In 2024, building on the resounding success of its inaugural edition, which highlighted Athbah Arts’ extensive expertise in conceptualizing and delivering purposeful and innovative equestrian entertainment events, Athbah Arts continued its triumphant journey with the second edition of JAWADI. This year’s event featured the second edition of the prestigious Saudi Breeders Cup, organized by the Arabian Horse Organization and overseen by the King Abdulaziz Arabian Horse Center, attracting participation from esteemed Saudi breeders.
The festival offered a plethora of activities tailored to satisfy every visitor’s interests while promoting awareness of the noble Arabian horse. Highlights included an art exhibition showcasing masterful paintings that captured the enchanting beauty of the Arabian horse, created by talented Saudi artists. Additionally, guests were treated to an opulent traditional lounge (“Diwaniyat Athbah”) inspired by authentic Saudi heritage, where they indulged in warm hospitality accompanied by the finest Saudi Arabian coffee and premium dates. Throughout the day, lively folklore performances further enriched the festive ambiance, complemented by dedicated areas featuring upscale restaurants, cafes, and boutique stores.
The Pioneering Equestrian Entertainment Event in Saudi Arabia
In 2022, form the heart of Diriyah, a place rich with vivid Saudi history and culture, The Riyadh Arabian Horse Festival (JAWADI) marked a unique debut during Riyadh Season 2022, emerging as Saudi Arabia’s premier equestrian entertainment festival.
Organized by Athbah Arts in collaboration with the National Events Center and the General Entertainment Authority as part of Riyadh Season 2022, JAWADI 2022 epitomized the fusion of entertainment with equestrian excellence, celebrating Saudi culture, heritage, and history. This groundbreaking event showcased the esteemed Arabian horse, bolstered national pride, and spotlighted Saudi talent.
JAWADI included meticulously curated experiences over five days across seven diverse entertainment zones, offering a rich tapestry of activities to delight visitors of all ages and tastes. Attendees enjoyed a variety of local and international dining options, cafes, and markets. The festival featured lavish traditional lounges, round-the-clock live folklore music and performances, an art exhibition, a children’s theater, and interactive experiences like horseback riding and educational workshops on the Arabian horse and the Saudi Desert-Bred horse.
Winning Horse Sheet for Saudi Cup 2022
On January 27, 2022, the Royal Commission for AlUla hosted an exceptional show, the first of its kind in the world, for the international fashion house Dolce & Gabana under the title “Horse Age Fashion Show”, the Cavalry Fashion Show – Dolce & Gabanna Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, Alta Gioielleria, in a unique and elegant evening that combined the creativity of design with the beauty of the purebred Arabian horses, which reflect the authentic Saudi heritage.
Through its long-term experience in all equestrian arts deeply woven into the Saudi culture and heritage, and particularly in organizing equestrian cultural events with a modern feel and touch, Athbah Arts Company was the cultural advisor for the Show, which was designed and implemented by Balich Worldwide Shoes, a leading company in designing and directing world-class shows and events.
The fashion show was accompanied with a procession of 10 purebred Arabian horses with their cavalries, as Athbah Arts designed, produced and supplied the cultural saddles and accessories for horses, in addition to cultural costumes for knights and horse handlers. The cultural costumes of the knights and horse handlers were produced in cooperation with the Saudi designer, Noura Al-Sheikh, who produced the costumes according to the design ideation proposed by Athbah Arts to reflect the authenticity of the Arabian horse, the power and prestige of the Arab knight, and the legacy of Dolce & Gabbana.
Winning Horse Sheet for Saudi Cup 2022
On February 26, 2022, the horse Emblem Road, owned by Prince Saud bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, won the title of the Saudi Cup in its third edition under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, where the winning horse was draped with a distinctive sheet produced by Athbah Arts Company in partnership with the Fashion Commission of the Ministry Culture and Saudi craftswomen, in an evening full of excitement and suspense that celebrated the beauty of Saudi identity and culture.
Continuous hours and days of relentless efforts were dedicated to produce a sheet worthy of crowning the winning horse of the most expensive race in the world, as the sheet was designed and produced with the required precession and quality to reflect the theme and message of the event in collaboration with Saudi craftswomen who hand-woven beads on the scarf necklace with designs inspired by Saudi heritage.
Annual Reception Ceremony in Honor of the Guests of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival
Coinciding with Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Arabian Horse Festival, and in honor of the guests participating in this annual festival, Athbah Stud hosts a dinner and reception ceremony that is designed, organized and fully executed by Athbah Arts Company. Athbah Arts has been organizing this annual ceremony since 2013 with an entertaining atmosphere in which the beauty of Saudi heritage blends with the captivating equestrian and cultural arts and live performances.
Reception in Honor of the VIP Guests Participating in the First Formula E Race in Diriyah
Athbah Arts Company designed, organized and implemented an exclusive reception and dinner ceremony in honor of the VIP guests participating in the first Formula-E race in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which was organized by the General Authority for Sports in Diriyah on December 14th, 2018. Athbah Arts offered its guests a comprehensive entertainment experience of live performances, folklore and cultural arts, equestrian performances, live culinary arts, among other activities within a captivating atmosphere that illustrated the authentic Saudi heritage in an innovative modern way.
